"God, teach me lessons for living so I can stay the course. Give me insight so I can do what you tell me—my whole life one long, obedient response."

Quote of the Day

"Greatness is not where we stand, but in what direction we are moving. We must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it - but sail we must and not drift nor lie at anchor."

We are Moving

Just a quick update for those of you who are following the adventures of the Bowers, we are moving in February. God has been stirring in us a change for awhile and now is the time for that to happen. There are a lot of things that don't make sense but there are more things that do that tell Danny and I that this is where God is moving us.

Danny is going to be a youth pastor at Mission Hills Church in Mission Viejo, Ca. We are really excited for this new chapter in our lives at the same time it is hard to say goodbye.

We are trusting God in all the little details that need to come together here and there.

So if I start slacking in posting it is because we are busy with the move, but I will try to keep things updated as well as I can.

"The Lord will give strength to His people; the LORD will bless His people with peace."
Psalm 29:11

What the Boys Are Up To These Days

This is what the boys are up to these days. Cody has gotten his Hummer a few Christmases ago and this year Cole got his Quad. Cole askes if he can ride it every day. So here are my crazy boys riding around the backyard having some fun.

Change?!?

I know I have not blogged very much this year. My January has been a little different than I thought it was going to be. And I think February is going to be not what I thought either.

Danny and I are embarking on a new adventure full of changes. So here are some random thoughts I have found about change:
  • it is uncomfortable
  • it can hurt
  • it does not affect just you
  • it can be exciting
  • it can bring a whole new batch of challenges
  • it is the beginning of something new
  • it can be confusing
  • it can bring a new refreshing energy to life
  • it allows opportunity for others to step up or step in
  • it happens fast
  • it is all okay when you keep your eyes on God and trust that He knows what He is doing and will take care of all the needs.

I will share more about this change that is going on in our lives later, but for now I am busy with the details of all that is going on. Thanks for all your support and prayers and remember that life is always changing if not it would not be so interesting.

What kind of change are you preventing in your life that needs to happen?

Quote of the Day

"When I am afraid, I will trust in You."

Something Yummy

This first recipe I share goes back 5 years ago. It is from my sister Michele, who made this for me after I had Cody. To be honest I was not to sure of it when she mentioned it but now we love it and the boys like it too (which is a big deal if you know my boys). So that is the story and here is the recipe for you:

Tator Tot Casserole
1-1.5 lbs of ground beef with onions
32 oz. bag of frozen tator tots
2 cans of golden mushroom soup
1 can of milk
shredded shard cheddar cheese
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9X13 pan with pam. Brown your meat with the onions (and I add salt and pepper and garlic). Drain the fat from the meat and then put it in the pan. Put the whole bag of tator tots over the meat. In a bowl on the side combine the 2 cans of golden mushroom soup with the one can of milk and some shredded cheese, then pour the mixture over the tator tots. Bake for 1/2 an hour uncovered. Once baked broil to toast the tator tots and put some more cheese on to melt.
For a smaller portion I do 1lb. of meat with less tator tots (not sure how many I use I just cover the meat). I put it in a 8X11 pan and use 1 can of soup and 1/2 a can of milk. You can also put green beans in the casserole or be like me and serve them on the side.
This is one of those kinds of meals you can make ahead of time and freeze it for one of those chaotic days and you have no clue what to do for dinner...Enjoy!!!
