Bowers' Thanksgiving Weekend
Now that I am getting caught up with things that I needed to finish up (except laundry) I can fill you in to our wonderful Thanksgiving weekend.
It started off with Danny's Mom and her husband Bob coming over Wednesday night. The drove on the parking lot (AKA I-5) making decent time for the night before Thanksgiving. Thursday morning we had nothing to special for breakfast and Danny went to football practice. So Bob helped me with the turkey (he is an excellent cook). Got everything ready so it was time to put my feet up and we watched some football games and rested until dinner was ready. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner and topped it off with a homemade apple pie (crust and all...Michele)
Friday was a relaxing day as well. Pomie (Danny's mom) and I decided to brave the crowds and go shopping for the boys. We got to Toys R Us around 10:30am and the store was not that bad. We did really good that day hitting Target and Khols as well. My shopping is pretty much done with a few exceptions.... Then we all packed in to my car and headed up to Fresno for the championship game. We went into half time down 28-6 and came out wanting to win in the second half. Took it into over time and won!!!
Saturday of course was more football and relaxing. We got a few things done around the house and then Bob made prime rib for dinner - yummy, have I mentioned I like good cooking!!!
Sunday was a special day for Danny. Back in August Danny passed his oral test for ordination and we celebrated and recognized it on Sunday. Danny preached the first service and was amazing (I am his toughest critic) but he did really good. Then my parents came for the ordination service and I got to hear my daddy preach again (it has been years since I have heard my dad). He did a great job as well. Then we all as a family went out for lunch. It was a nice time. Since my apple pie was such a hit I made another one for dinner that night as well.
Monday we went to Disneyland. I love Disneyland period but I think I love it more when it is decorated for the holidays. Wow - if you have a chance to go I say go it is amazing. Of course I took my camera and we had lots of fun. I think other than pictures my favorite part was the parade and the fireworks and snow. Yes it snowed at Disneyland!!! okay so it wasn't real but it sure felt real. I left feeling like I just spent a part of Christmas with my family.
Tuesday Bob and Pomie had to go home, but we made one important stop at In N Out. If you have never been to one you have no idea what you are missing (Sarah). It was a fun time, and good food again.
So there it is a wonderful time spent with family that will never be forgotten.

Thankful Heart
I know Thanksgiving has past. I wanted to post what I am thankful for so here it is in no order:
- a hard working, loving, amazing husband
- little boys giggles
- caring and giving friends
- family near and far
- yummy food
- a warm bed
- sweet kisses all day long from boys big and little
- many blessings from above
- hardships molding me to be a better person
- sisters who make the best friends
- cameras to capture life
- that look in a little boy's eye of pure joy and happiness
- hide and seek in the dark with candles lit
- high school girls who make me smile
- Friday morning gals
- reconnecting with long lost friends all over the world
- mothers who are wonderful friends
- love
- good heath
- simple things in life
I am sure if I sat here long enough there would be plenty more but this is a good list for now. So tell me what are you thankful for? leave me a comment.

don't know what to call this one...
Last night before I went to bed I read this verse and this is what I got out of it, enjoy. :)
"But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for my Savior; my God will hear me." Micah 7:7 (NIV)
"But me, I'm not giving up. I'm sticking around to see what God will do. I'm waiting for God to make things right. I'm counting on God to listen to me." Micah 7:7 (Message)
1. Do Not Give Up!!
We need to persevere. Know that you can do it, you can get through whatever you are going through. It reminded me of Psalm 138:8 (message) "Finish what you started in me God, Your love is eternal - don't quit on me now."
God is not going to give up on you so don't give up on Him.
2. Watch in Hope for the Lord.
He is moving, He is doing things. We just need to hold on to the hope that we have in Him. Jeremiah 29:11b says: "...I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. " We just need to trust Him
3. Wait for God My Savior.
Wait ... that is a hard one, really, because we live in a world that tells us we shouldn't have to wait for anything. But we are missing out of a lot when we don't wait. It is okay to slow life down, maybe that is all you need really, life goes by to fast and we are to busy to really enjoy what is really important. And sometimes that means people...
4. See What God Will Do...
Open your eyes... really. In the midst of hard times there are still blessings all around you. And to be honest we miss what God is going to to because our eyes are not open to see it. Or we have expectations and miss what God is going to do. How many times when we pray and ask God to help us we come with a plan already in our hands. When we say we want God's way do we really mean it? Because if so it means that most of the time your way won't happen, but that is okay because God's way is so much more amazing than what we could have ever found.
5. God Will Make Things Right!!!
I think the key to this one is things will be made right in His time and what is right in His eyes, not mine... To be honest I don't always know the big picture but God does, so I have to trust that He knows what is best and what is right and that may not be what I think. I need to be okay with that...again come with no expectations.
6. God Will Hear Me and Listen to Me!!!
So talk to Him, pour out your heart, cry out to Him. He is listening and He wants you to turn to Him. So why don't you? Why are you to busy going to your friends or family first like they have the answers or can fix things....I know there is comfort in going to friends and family but really I think we need to go to God first. He can help you sort through all that is going on.
Well that is pretty much what I got slammed with last night :) I finish with this that I wrote in my journal:
Hard times refine us, shape us, change us to be who are are - someone who is better because God loves us with an everlasting love, a love that won't leave you the way you are, a love that knows your potential and guides you to that potential of someone remarkable.

Amy and Dave
This past weekend I was blessed to be able to take my boys to visit my sister and her family in Minnesota. They just moved there and live in a sweet but little apartment. The 5 of them plus the 3 of us made for some fun times. It was a really relaxing time for me and a great time for the boys to play with their cousins. In fact the boys got to see really large snowflakes the first morning we were there (mommy was sleeping). While I was out there we did some family pictures for them. Here are some that I just finished of Dave and Amy. I love them, they just made me smile the whole time I was working on the pictures.
There are some great ones of the kids and I will post some of those when I get them done :)

How I feel Right Now...
This song says a lot of how I feel right now. I like it because in the midst of pain and hard times there is nothing better than to hold on to the promises that God gives us, and at this moment that is all I am doing. Holding on to the promise of a lifetime...
Here are the lyrics and if you want to listen to it go to my myspace at www.myspace.com/kimbowers

Promise of a Lifetime by Kutless
I have fallen to my knees
As I sing a lullaby of pain
I'm feeling broken in my melody
As I sing to help the tears go away
Then I remember the pledge you made to me
(Chorus)I know you're always there
To hear my every prayer inside I'm clinging to
The promise of a lifetime
I hear the words you say
To never walk away from me and leave behind
The promise of a lifetime
Will you help me fall apart
Pick me up, take me in your arms
Find my way back from the storm
And you show me how to grow through the change
I still remember the pledge you made to me
(Chorus)I know you're always there
To hear my every prayer inside I'm clinging to
The promise of a lifetime
I hear the words you say
To never walk away from me and leave behind
The promise of a lifetime
I am holding on to the hope I have inside
With you I will stay through every day
Putting my understanding aside
I am comforted
(Chorus)To know you're always there
To hear my every prayer inside I'm clinging to
The promise of a lifetime
I hear the words you say
To never walk away from me and leave behind
The promise of a lifetime

Quote of the Day
Pile your troubles on God's shoulders—
he'll carry your load, he'll help you out.
He'll never let good people
topple into ruin.

Happy 5th Birthday Cody
This morning we took Cody out for breakfast at Mimi's Cafe, he loves to have thier pancakes with whipped cream (so does Cole). Then we went to the mall for some shopping! We found some clothes for the boys when we go to Minnesota next week to visit some family. Then headed to the Toy store and shopped a little more. Tonight we have a scavenger hunt with the high schoolers so we will celebrate with all of them later. Here are some pictures of him 5 years ago...
