HAIRCUTS!

So I finally gave the boys a haircut... wow their hair was long. And they were so good too.

Family Beach Weekend!!! with a little football too...

This weekend my 3 boys (Danny, Cody and Cole) and I are going to spend it at the beach in Newport! Danny is coaching football at BCHS and they have a game down there. So we decided to take the boys along... they love to watch the games. We are going to stay one night and then spend Saturday at the beach. I found a new spot in Crystal Cove park area that is so cool and there are some fun places to take pictures too. It will be a nice little get away for us.

Here we go again...

Cole is going to have surgery now. He needs to have his adenoids removed and possibly his tonsils (not quite sure how to spell that one). We have done this with Cody when he was 2 so now we will do this with Cole when he is 3. I think it is harder for me now because I know what to expect as before I really did not have any expectations. But it will be better for him in the long run. It looks like it will be in about a month. I will let you know :)

"The Gathering"

This past week I was able to go with Danny to the Gathering (a really cool get together for PDYM Mentors). I was able to meet a lot of his friends and guys he is always talking about. It was amazing to see a bunch of youth pastors get together not to compare but to encourage each other.

For me I was able to meet and hang out with other youth pastor wives. To be honest I was really nervous because I did not know what to expect (and I am a dork like that), but it was one of the most refreshing few days I have ever had in this kind of setting. It was so wonderful to be able to hang out with other women and be able to share with each other what we experience and to relate with each other.

For me personally what God whispered to me was the importance of having other things in my life outside of "church". Basically, church should not be my whole life. I know it is not like it is rocket science but it was something I needed to be reminded of.

The other big blessing for me was the new friends that I have!! I cannot wait for the next year!

Other than playing in or around the pond we enjoyed a fun family game of softball. I will just never use the blue bat again...

We really did have a game going and some of us really did hit the ball even though the pictures don't really show it...

We had a great time hanging out, relaxing and just being together as a family.

Family Vacation Part 1

As I have been starting to update my blog I realized that I have not told you about our 2 week family vacation to Colorado. Since I took a lot of pictures I think I will explain it to you with them, hope that is okay.

It all started right after church we packed up into the car and headed out to Colorado.

Oh did I mention that we also had both Crush and Rusty our dogs...

On the way we were going to meet up with Matt and Michele and Halle (Makayla and Brianna were already out in Mesa with Nana and Papa). We were going to meet up in St George or somewhere like that.... We found them right outside the border to Nevada with a flat tire on the pop up. Anyways we got it fixed and to make a long, long story short we followed them all the way to Mesa going 40-50 mph. This is what majority of the trip looked like for us, when it was daylight.

We finally arrived in Mesa, Colorado by 7am the next morning (we drove straight through the night). That day we spent most of the time resting from the long drive out. All that was left to join us was Donny and Tobey (his dog).


There was so much to do, but the kids (big and little) found that the pond was the best place to hang out. So the big kids decided to build a dock to make it easy to play in the pond. They did a good job.

We had a lot of good food. Dad/Papa would make Belgian waffles every morning and there was always fresh whipped cream and strawberries to put on them. Then we found the blueberries to add to it as well. There was a lot of time that we just hung out and enjoyed the peace and quiet.

This is going to end part one. There is still more to tell you about Mesa and then the following week we went to Aurora to visit with Danny's family. I will post more soon, so keep watching.

Back to School!!!
